Hi, my name is James Sheldon and I am the founder of Shelcorp. If you are anything like me, enjoying the internet and making money, then I'll explain a little about how I combined the two and changed my life but first let me tell you a little about myself.
The reason for creating this website is to meet, network and inspire other people or entrepreneurs who are in the same situation just like I was. Hopefully my story can help inspire you to discover a better alternative just like I did when I started being my own boss in life and in business.
I was born in Cape Town, South Africa where I completed high school but due to financial constraints I was unable to move on to a tertiary education. While still in high school, I worked part time at a grocery store nearly everyday and week-ends. My first job after completing high school was as an admin clerk.
At the age of 19 my girlfriend, at the time, gave birth to our daughter. We got married three years later but by then I was no longer
living with my parents. In fact, I had no place of my own. I was moving around from one family member to the other. My married life started from a room we rented from my brother-in-law. I no longer worked as an admin clerk but doing sales for a processed food manufacturing company.
Unfortunately nothing lasted. We moved several times and I changed jobs several times. I worked in factories and warehouses. To make matters even worse, my family grew bigger. Nothing I did seemed to be enough.
For as long as I can remember, working for someone else was always a problem but I was forced to do so for my family's sake. No matter how hard I worked it was never up to me to determine when I was worthy of a raise or a promotion.
Then one of my friends started his own business and I joined him to build his company. After two years I realized IT WAS STILL HIS COMPANY. I left him and did the same for another friend in the hope that I could be a partner. Three years later, it was time to move on again. So, after five years... still nothing.
Then I started my own company. I was fully convinced that my previous experience and knowledge would be enough to give me the boost in life that I so desperately longed for. Unfortunately, it cost me all of my time and resources. I was definitely doing business (being busy). My stress levels went through the roof. My time for family was limited. Things got so bad that my wife and I nearly separated. I even had to sell my car to cover some of our debts but even that wasn't enough.
Then, while walking across a bridge I realized that I had a better vantage point of what was happening below. To me this was the greatest revelation I had up until that point in my life. I asked myself, what if I could get someone, a complete stranger, to look into my life from the outside and then tell me what they saw. But not just anybody. It had to be someone like me, who walked the road I walked but found a way to change it all.
My life changed when I was introduced to a system of principles that not only changed the way I do business but also the way I live. I found something that elevated my thoughts to levels I never even thought existed. The best part, these concepts are constantly being updated by a community of people who live it. Yes, a community , not just one man with a single perspective but a community with a collective perspective of everything that's happening all over the world.
I was looking for one person to guide me but instead I found a system that is driven by a community of like-minded people. It's like the embodiment of every strategy, every way of life and every mindset that has achieved success in life and in business.
